New Year, Same Me

You all should know by now that I’m not all about resolutions (aside from my One Word for this year which is Bloom). There are posts everywhere about getting healthy, organized, or wealthy. And everyone is setting their “intentions” (is this just a trendy way of saying you’re making goals or am I missing something?) People, myself included, are hunting down the perfect new planner. Gym membership purchases are on the rise. ‘Tis the season!

While all of this is good, and for some a totally legit way to learn, grow, and build confidence, I have something that I feel like I need to tell you.

YOU ARE ENOUGH. Right now. Just as you are. Today.

You are enough even if you want to fit in smaller jeans.

You are enough even if your business isn’t thriving yet.

You are enough even if you don’t have a giant social media following.

You are enough even if you don’t read your Bible every day.

You are enough even if you spend most of your day in pajamas and you haven’t showered in three days. (Oh hey, this is me.)

You are enough even if you are a working mom.

You are enough even if you stay at home.

You are enough even if you’re not working your dream job.

You are enough even if you don’t even know what your dream job is.

You are enough even if nobody reads your blog.

You are enough even if you are single.

You are enough even if you’re dissatisfied with your relationship.

You are enough even if you feel directionless.

You are enough even if you can’t exercise every day.

You are enough even if you are depressed.

You are enough even if you are tired.

You are enough even if you are bad at self care.

You are enough even if you are not good at keeping up with friends.

You are enough even if you don’t have friends.

You are enough even if you feel stuck.

You are enough even if you feel alone.

You are enough even if you don’t like yourself.

You are enough even if you don’t feel like you are.

YOU ARE ENOUGH.

So, go ahead, set some goals, make some changes, you do you. But know that this “new you” isn’t any better than who you are today. Your challenges, your weaknesses, those things you want to change, they’re all a part of making you who you are and will help shape you into who you want to be. And sweet friend, I’m so glad you are here.
